Description
The SSL 4000 is the unquestioned superstar of consoles. Its punchy, deep, rich, in-your-face sonic signature has shaped modern music as we know it, from David Bowie to Dr. Dre, Bruce Springsteen to Foo Fighters to Kendrick Lamar.
Licensed by SSL, this collection captures the original consoles’ unrivaled dynamics and EQ with breathtaking detail. With channel strips from the acclaimed E- and G-series, classic mic preamps, both “black” and “brown” knob EQ options, and the famed SSL bus compressor, your DAW doesn’t just sound like an SSL—it becomes an SSL.
Choose Your Favorite E-Series
Waves’ original E-Series plugin set the standard for superb sound and low CPU consumption. Now, the new EV2 plugin includes both “black” and “brown” knob EQ, along with mic preamp models for sweet saturation and overdrive.
The Modern, Punchy G-Series
SSL’s follow-up to the E-Series gained its own devotees. Its redesigned, adaptive-Q equalizer could deliver delicate tone-shaping, or a more forward sound—while the shelving EQ stage offered enhanced definition.
The Original “Glue” Compressor
The G-series Master Bus Compressor, known for its uncanny ability to “glue” mixes together, is probably the most imitated compressor ever—but this one has SSL’s seal of approval. You’ll hear the difference.
The Rare 292 Model EQ
The G-EQ models the rack-mounted version of SSL’s G 292 “pink knob” EQ, one of SSL’s last channel strip EQ designs. When engineers prioritize character and shape over detail, the fabled 292 is often their EQ of choice.
Pro-Level Presets
Get inspired by over 600 presets from Grammy-winning engineers: Chris Lord-Alge (Foo Fighters), Jacquire King (King of Leon), Tony Maserati (David Bowie), Joe Barresi (Tool), Jack Joseph Puig (Lady Gaga), Lu Diaz (Jay Z), Dave Pensado (Justin Timberlake), Stuart White (Beyoncé), and many more.
Added Functionality
While 100% faithful to the sound, some plugins add modern touches like EQ Solo, output control enhancements, switching between SSL’s authentic analog noise floor sound or a pristine digital version, and more.
